Of Homely Grey Aglets and Flamboyant Shoelaces... (Original Poetry)

Day in and day out, always at work

Far too many responsibilities to shirk

Pondering how much longer till berserk

Sunset, sunrise, breaking dawn, crepuscule

Seeking moments of respite, even if minuscule

Oh! That moment of epiphany

Ringing in the silvery symphony

The triumphant ballad of the soul

Unhampered by the cries of the whole

Amid the chaos, a child out on a jolly stroll

A fluttering fluffy cotton candy tuft

Butterflies flitting round a wilted floret

Sparkling laces tying up a shoe all scuffed

At the end of the laces, an austere grey aglet

A statuesque memoir of that which cannot be bluffed!
